Case Point is dedicated to delivering skill development programs that focus on leadership and business management. Our programs are designed to inspire and prepare professionals for extraordinary success in their careers.

The case study method was pioneered by Harvard University and is used by professional schools in the legal, medical, and management fields.

Unlike lectures, the case method requires you to apply your own analysis.

In lectures, you will learn about theory by what you are told. However, with the case method, you have to apply your own analysis to make a decision about a real business problem. The real value of this method is that it will engage you in your own learning instead of merely being an observer.

Create recommendations to solve an open-ended problem.

In a case, you'll be presented with a complex open-ended problem where you will be asked to take on the role of a key decision-maker in an organization.

You will then:

• Consider the facts of the case;
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis;
• Identify and evaluate the alternatives; and
• Produce a recommendation and a plan of action

You will draw on your own experiences as well as the supporting theory you will learn for the case. By applying what you know, you will develop a thorough understanding of the problem and challenge yourself to find the best solution.

Debating and discussing in class is an integral part of the case method.

During the discussion, you'll also hear other students' perspectives, and may question or dispute others' opinions. Actively debating and discussing analysis will also develop your critical thinking skills and teach you how to think quickly on your feet.

The thought of speaking, discussing, and defending a point of view in a group environment can be intimidating. However, with practice and preparation beforehand, you can gain the confidence you need to speak and add value in any group setting, be it in the classroom or the workplace.
